This year was kind of a mixed bag, as we absolutely wanted to get more photo shoots done, but with a busy weekend schedule and traveling, it left us with little time to accomplish them. Luckily the final shoot of October is full of enough Halloween spirit to close out the season in style.

I have known Diana for many years now. She is definitely one of my favorite people I have met through this whole photography aspect of my life. We have since become great friends and I am always excited whenever the chance arises for us to collaborate on something. This time was no different.

We had these different photos of her laying in bed that on there own are great to begin with, but we wanted to turn them into something more. So the trick was to come up with something to do with them that turned them into “TrueHorror” photos. We thought about it for a while and she trusted that I would eventually come up with an idea that she would love. So after a week or two of staring at them and brainstorming, I came up with the idea of distorting her eyes into these white non pupil having ones, that in turn made me think of the “deadites” from the Evil Dead films.

This photo set is inspired by the Good Guy Doll factory seen in Child’s Play 2. A great deal of enthusiasm, care, and effort was put into creating these colorful new images and I hope it shows in the final product.

The concept Nicole and I landed on was loosely inspired by the Succubus who is a demon that takes the form of a woman in order to seduce it’s prey. I really liked the concept of a woman who had just picked the bones clean of an unsuspecting victim whom she had lured into her clutches. Nicole was into this idea and I thought she would be able to pull it off and as you will no doubt see for yourself below.

Carved is something I had been working on little by little for about two years with my friend and frequent collaborator, Holly.

Initially conceived as simply a faux movie one sheet in 2012, it was after some thought and discussion that the decision was made to expand on the concept when I created the mask you see here to wear as a simple Halloween costume last year. The original plan was initially to film a short fake trailer, when I realized that I didn’t have access to the necessary equipment to do things the right way. The next plan was to tell a story sequentially in photos and have them posted on a separate site created especially for the project. Unfortunately, due to scheduling circumstances beyond Holly’s or myself’s control, we ran out of time to complete the necessary photography. However, that is not to say we didn’t get to create some images that were cool on their own.
